The total combined area of the group Islands is 8,249 and has a total of 572 Islands. Only 36 islands out of 572 are inhabitable. 92% of the total land area of The Andaman & Nicobar are covered with very dense forest.

The climate is tropical and humid with 70%-90% humidity which makes October-May an ideal tourist season.June to September is the perfect time for Monsoon Holidays.

It's only the Andaman group of Islands which is open for Tourism and The Nicobar group of Islands is out of bounds for Tourism activities because the majority of people living in the Nicobar Islands are Tribals.

Currently, 26 islands under Andaman group of Islands are open for tourism. The island is full of tropical vegetation and has a dense forest belt which includes exotic variety flora and fauna.

POPULAR FOR: MOUNT HARRIET is the highest peak in Andaman, Trekking to Madhuban(16 Km long trek through forests) and Bird watching. HOW TO VISIT: Tourists can take a ferry from Chatham jetty(Haddo, Port Blair) to bamboo float and then take an auto rickshaw to the park.It is an almost 1-hour journey.
